Fairton, New Jersey, USA
Cohanzick Country Club in Fairton, New Jersey, opened in 1895 and was Findlay. The course sat along the Cohansey River giving it a scenic, wooded character with narrow fairways and frequent wind influence. For more than a century it served as a community golf hub for Cumberland County. By the 2000s, the course had begun to decline as maintenance slipped, but its extremely low greens fees kept it popular with locals who wanted an affordable place to play. Cohanzick ultimately closed in 2012, ending over 115 years of operation.
