Hell's Point was designed and built in 1982 by renowned architect Rees Jones, and was named by Golf Digest as one of the country's best 100 new courses in 1984. The American Society of Golf Course Architects rated Hell's Point as one of the best designed courses in the USA. The course is a nature preserve located just 1 mile from the Atlantic Ocean in Virginia Beach, VA. Hell's Point Creek is a brackish intercoastal waterway that runs through the middle of the course. This swampy watershed results in dense vegitation. As the sign on Hole 4 states, "Do not harm the snakes".
