Recommended Settings
For the most realistic Masters experience, use the designer's recommended settings. Augusta's greens are famously fast and firm, and these settings lean into that.

13.0
A stimpmeter reading of 13.0 is tournament-fast. If you're finding the greens too quick, drop it to 11-12 for a more forgiving round while you learn the slopes. Entry-level launch monitors that calculate spin (like the Garmin R10) tend to make fast greens play even harder, so start at the lower end. If you're still picking hardware, our launch monitor buyer's guide compares every unit that works with GSPro.
Holes to Watch
These are the holes that define Augusta National, including the stretch known as Amen Corner:
- Hole 11 (White Dogwood). The start of Amen Corner. A long par 4 with water guarding the left side of the green.
- Hole 12 (Golden Bell). The famous short par 3 over Rae's Creek. The swirling wind through the trees makes club selection a gamble every year.
- Hole 13 (Azalea). A reachable par 5 that tempts players to go for the green in two over the creek. Eagles and disasters both start here.
- Hole 15 (Firethorn). Another par 5 with water fronting the green. The Sunday pin positions here have decided multiple green jackets.
- Hole 16 (Redbud). The par 3 where players skip shots across the water in practice rounds. The hole location on Sunday always creates drama.

Playing Augusta at home
Masters week sells more launch monitors than any other week of the year, and for good reason: this is the course everyone wants to try. The launch monitor buyer’s guide covers every GSPro-compatible option. For the room itself:
- Hitting mats (Amazon): Augusta’s tight lies punish thin strikes; a good mat forgives them.
- Impact screens (Amazon): Amen Corner deserves better than a desktop monitor.
- Short-throw projectors (Amazon): pair one with the screen and you won't cast a shadow over the 12th.
The Course View earns a small commission on some Amazon links, at no extra cost to you.
